Molby Disappointed Not To Win By More
May 9
Jan Molby was disappointed that Harriers failed to convert their chances in yesterday's win over Boston United. Speaking to the press after the game he said, "The disappointing thing which has been our problem all season is that we had an awful lot of chances which we didn't put away. It was a nice open game though and we controlled large parts of it".
"The scoreline should have been more like 6-2" - Jan Molby
Remembering the goals that were scored he said, "Although it will go down as an own goal it was a lovely piece of skill by Simon Brown who created it and he showed what a quality player he could be. John Williams missed four open goals and although, in the end, he got himself a goal, the scoreline should have been more like 6-2 because they also had a couple of chances".
Turning his thoughts to the future, and the 15 players who are now out of contract the boss said, "I hope to have everything sorted out by Monday morning once I have confirmed what the budget is going to be for next season." He also confirmed his interest in keeping Brown at the club if possible, "He is going back to West Brom but if ever he is available on a month's loan, a season's loan or a permanent move, we would try to be in the hat".
Boston manager Steve Evans was less happy with the outcome of the game, his team had arrived at Aggborough with a four-game unbeaten run going away from home, "The players must have already gone on their summer holidays at 3pm, that was not the Boston United of the past six or seven weeks, but they are entitled to one poor performance".
