| Match Report |
|
Harriers recorded their third consecutive win in the Central League,
all without conceding a goal, with a well earned victory over a
young Wigan team.
The visitors had the best of the opening exchanges, and Ben Kay almost opened the scoring when he hit the post with a blistering shot which Harriers' trialist goalkeeper Grard Doherty never saw. Harriers had chances also, good work by Andy Ducros created an opening for Ian Foster but he directed his shot wide when it appeared easier to score. After the break Harriers gradually began to exert themselves and took the lead when Ian Foster turned in the loose ball after Daire Doyle's shot had been well saved by Stillie in the Wigan goal. Stillie again denied Harriers with two saves of shots from trialist Danny Jones, but he stood no chance with Jones' 20 yard effort which doubled Harriers' lead in stoppage time. |
