Match Report
For the second time in a week a game between Harriers and Chesterfield saw Harriers play most of the game with ten men. Despite the handicap, Harriers were still comfortable winners.

The game quickly sparked into life after just two minutes, Daire Doyle was fouled on the edge of the Chesterfield penalty area and Andy Ducros curled the free--kick low around the end or the wall.

Chesterfield have the leakiest defence in the league, and this was evident two minutes later when Andy Corbett cut inside the full back and curled a shot into the top corner of the net. At this stage it looked as though Harriers might score a hatful.

The visitors did not lie down, however, and Roger Willis chased a long through ball before firing past trialist Mark Smith in the Harriers goal. The goal sparked the Spireites into life and they began to gain the upper hand for a while. Shortly before the break, however, Harriers re-established the two goal advantage. Barratt, under pressure from Tony Bird, headed weakly back to his goalkeeper, Bird chased after the ball and as Richmond slipped while trying to clear Bird was left with an easy tap in.

The half ended in controversy, Craig Wilding didn't appreciate Bird's heavy challenge and the two players squared up to each other. Referee Lewis sent-off the Harriers striker for his part in the fracas, but didn't even speak to the Chesterfield player.

After the break Harriers replaced Ben Davies with Stewart Hadley and changed their formation so the Hadley was alone up front. Chesterfield made hard work of making their extra man pay off, and for the most part it appeared that is was the visitors who had ten men.

Eventually they managed to pull a goal back, the ball was played over the defence to sustitute Andy Rushbury who turned inside Ian Joy and tucked a shot past the dive of Smith. This could have set up a tense finish but it was Harriers who responded best and scored a fourth. Joy made a strong run through the heart of the opposition defence before setting up Ducros who gave Richmond no chance.
