Harriers ended a three-game losing streak by holding Notts County to a goalless
draw at Bromsgrove in a dour match.
The game began brightly with Andy Hemmings in the Harriers goal having to be at his best to deny first Craig Appleby and then Spencer Commons in the first ten minutes. The game soon became a midfield struggle, however, and goalmouth action was sparse. Harriers were not at their best in the first twenty minutes but managed to keep the visitors out without threatening to take the lead. Both teams were fully committed, and there were some crunching tackles that went unpunished by the referee, although he did take the name of David Cross in the second half for a nasty challenge on Hemmings. Harriers were better organised after the break and had most of the possession but didn't force Greg Smith into a save. Late in the game Notts almost took the lead when a shot from Willis Francis curled just past the post, and in the last minute a breakaway by Matt Reeves ended with a shot which went narrowly wide and the game ended all square. |
