Harriers battle back from behind to deservedly earn a draw against The Cobblers and
pick up their first home point of the season.
The visitors had the best of a fairly even first half and took the lead after 25 minutes
with a swift counter-attacking move. Danny Lowe got away on the right and crossed
to the near post where Aaron Cavill headed in.
After the break Harriers stepped up their performance and pressed for the equaliser. Six
minutes into the half Adam Blake sprung the offside trap and had a clear run on goal
but pulled his shot wide and soon afterwards John Douglas headed wide from a deep
Scott Lower cross.
At the other end the visitors were finding their chances limited and only threatened
once but Yakoob Khan was denied by Craig Johnson in the Harriers goal. With eleven
minutes remaining the equaliser arrived, a long ball was headed on by Douglas into the
path of Michael Xiourouppa who held off his marker before firing powerfully into the
top corner of the net.
