Harriers rounded off their season with another victory that moved them into third place in the league and
condemned Bedworth to the final relegation spot.
Harriers got off to a great start taking the lead after just nine minutes, David Stanbra scoring with a glancing
header from Ian Langstone's free kick on the right. Despite enjoying most of the possession in the
first half Harriers were unable to press home their early advantage and the game became scrappy. Midway
through the half Bedworth made a rare foray into the home penalty area, Ian Wilson threading the ball through
for Carl Farquharson but a timely intervention by Tom Willmore distracted him just as he was about to shoot
and Neil Thomas was able to make a good save.
After the break there was more entertainment and Harriers doubled their advantage on the hour. Carl Dudley
split the visitors' defence open with a pass that set Stanbra clear and he scored with a shot that went in off
the far post. The game was turned on it's head after 71 minutes, a Langstone corner from the right found
Liam Teraud at the far post whose shot hit the bar and bounced on the line before being cleared. Harriers
clearly felt that the ball had crossed the line but the referee waved play on, Bedworth attacked straight away
and Wilson reduced the arrears with a 30-yard shot that left Thomas rooted to the spot. Two minutes later
United were level, substitute Lee Kinzett found Farquharson who created space for himself before drilling a shot
into the bottom corner of the net.
Harriers withstood this fightback from the visitors and with seven minutes left regained the lead. Tom Willmore
pounced on the ball as it was poorly cleared by the Bedworth defence and fired a shot straight back from 25
yards out. In stoppage time Harriers made the game safe, another Langstone corner from the right caused
problems for the Bedworth defence and Chris McHale rose unmarked to head in from close range.
