Match Report
Harriers struggled o overcome league whipping-boys Atherstone, and it was not until nearly six minutesinto stoppage time before the game was made safe.

For Harriers it was a familiar story of dominating possession without capitalising on the chances they created. Atherstone have one of the worst defensive records in the league, and it is easy to see why, keeper Gittins flapped at several crosses and fumbled a lot of the shots he had to field while their three-man defence was breached on a number of occasions.

Harriers made the breakthrough after quarter of an hour, Heath's cross from the right was missed by James but Bowen turned it back across the face of goal and James stabbed it in. Atherstone drew level minutes later, only their third goal of the season, Ayre raced onto a pass through the Harriers defence just beating John Danby to the ball and tucked his shot into the far corner.

After the break it was nearly all Harriers, but they laboured hard to regain and then hold the lead. Lee Bowen saw his shot turned in by James early in the half as Harriers went back in front. While te lead was just one goal, and with Harriers wasting so many chances, there was always a chance that Atherstone would snatch an equaliser. Drakeley, Alman, Bowen and Hollick all saw Gittins save their shots, and Bowen, Hollick and Alman were the chief culprits when it came to missing the target. Eventually, deep into stoppage time, Hollick broke free on the left and curled his shot inside the far post to wrap up the points.
