Match Report by St@tto

Harriers chances of winning the league are almost gone after they suffered their third defeat in four games.  A goal in each half, one an own goal, was enough to sink a disappointing Harriers side.

The game had a real end-of-season feel to it in the early stages with neither side creating any clear goalscoring opportunities and both being restricted to tame long range efforts.  Harriers eventually began to get on top and Arron Farrell went close with a good shot that Chris Butler in the visitors' goal held on to well.  Shortly afterwards they had another chance to open the scoring, Boldmere didn't clear a corner properly and the ball fell to James Dyke who hit it straight at Butler.

The opening goal came just before the half hour mark; Boldmere were awarded a free kick in midfield that Luke Walker took, pumping the ball forward into the penalty area where it was met by the head of Harriers' Liam Teraud who could only direct it over Bret Clowes and into his own net.  Harriers were performing well below their best and although Boldmere weren't very good them selves the home team could have few complaints when they went in to the interval still trailing.

Harriers came back out after the break more determined and began to show more of what they are capable of.  Michael Xiourouppa should have equalised early on when he headed over the bar from close range from Kyle Brady's corner.  Shortly after that Harriers could have had a penalty when Simon Fitter broke into the penalty area and appeared to be pushed over but referee Lethbridge waved play on.

All of the goalscoring chances were being created by Harriers but it did seem that nothing was going to go their way.  Midway through the half Jordan Blair headed over the bar from another Brady cross just after Xiourouppa had failed to connect with the ball as it spun across the goalmouth.  Xiourouppa was guilty of the worst miss of the night soon afterwards, Farrell made a good run past a couple of defenders before unleashing a shot that Butler good only parry straight to him but with the goal gaping he scooped his shot clear over the bar.

As time wore on Harriers continued to press for an equaliser with Farrell heavily involved in the action; first he was denied by a last ditch tackle by Tom Brown, then he set up a chance for Blair who shot over the bar, finally he got on the end of Fitter's cross only to head straight at Butler.  Harriers' fightback was ended in stoppage time when the visitors finally managed their first shot on target of the night; Jamie Edwards took a free kick deep on the right wing that picked out Che Jones who looped a header over Clowes and into the far corner of the net to wrap up the win for Boldmere.
