| Match Report |
|
Harriers moved to the top of the league with one game to play following
another hard fought victory. Visiting Quorn played a physical game
but were also one of the better teams faced by Harriers in recent
matches.
In the opening exchanges Harriers created, and wasted, several good chances: Peter Faulds twice shot over the bar from close range and Matt Reeves and Richard Langford also missed good opportunities. After missing chances, Faulds turned provider and his pass set up Tim Jackson who scored his fourth goal of the season with a neat chip into the far corner. After the break, Harriers soon increased the lead. Faulds was fouled on the edge of the penalty area and while Quorn were still trying to organise their defences, Lee Ayres curled his shot into the bottom corner of the net. Harriers continued to waste chances as the game progressed, but none of them troubled Sean Rowles in the visitors' goal. Fortunately for Harriers, however, Quorn visibly tired as the game wore on and they didn't manage a single shot on goal in the second half. |
