Match Report by St@tto

Harriers suffered their first home defeat of the season after a dour game of few chances at a misty Aggborough.

The visitors took the lead after just 8 minutes when a 30-yard shot from Anthony Balcarres caught Adam Tromans off his line. Harriers began to get into the game after this early set back and Stephen Thompson set up Mitch Butler whose shot from distance was only a fraction too high and then Scott Eaton created an opening for Thompson but after he broke into the penalty area he could only direct his shot straight at Borough keeper Joe Mellings.  The equaliser came on the stroke half time, Butler's deep cross from the right found Daniel Ludlow at the far post and although Mellings blocked his shot the ball came back to him and he made no mistake with his second attempt.

The quality of the game dropped off considerably after the break, goalscoring chances were limited - the only on-target shot in the second half was Nuneaton's winning goal.  Before that, however, Nuneaton had gone close to regaining the lead when Tom Byrne gave the ball away to Dave Barnett but fortunately for Harriers he dragged his shot across the face of goal and wide of the far post.  The winning goal came soon afterwards; the ball was played through the heart of the Harriers defence for Carlton Rose who danced past his marker and tucked his shot into the bottom corner.

Harriers suffered a further setback twenty minutes from the end when Tromans was forced out of the game with an arm injury suffered in an earlier clash with Rose, with no goalkeeper on the bench Liam Teraud took over in goal.   Despite instructions from the bench for the Nuneaton strikersto shoot on sight, Teraud was not troubled.  Nuneaton defended strongly for the remainder of the game and Harriers were unable to break them down and slipped to a disappointing defeat.
