Match Report by St@tto
Harriers crashed out of the FA Youth Cup with an ignominious First Round defeat at Oadby.

After a promising start Harriers gave one of the worst displays of the season.  Matt White created a good early chance for Richard Langford but his shot was too close to keeper Andrew Taylor who saved easily and shortly afterward Langford played a neat 1-2 with Michael Xiourouppa and then steered his shot against the post.  On 25 minutes Peter Carter set up Xiourouppa who shot narrowly wide and from then on Harriers began to go rapidly downhill.

An Oadby attack after half an hour led to desperate defending in the Harriers penalty area which was ended by a last ditch tackle from Kevin Roeton.  Oadby were soon ahead, however, Elliott Wright made a strong run into the Harriers penalty area almost to the byline and his shot from a narroe angle somehow found it's way into the net at the near post.

Shortly after the interval Stephen Towers almost doubled the lead but his powerful header was cleared off the line by Tom Willmore.  After creating a string of chances in the first half, Harriers became devoid of ideas and were forced to defend against the lively attacks of the home team who were clearly fired up for the encounter.  The second goal came seven minutes into the second half, a long ball gave Kevin Wilson a run at goal and he easliy held off Roeton before firing his shot inside Daniel O'Gorman's left hand post.

Sloppy defending led to the third goal five minutes later, O'Gorman failed to gather a cross from the right and his defenders were unable to clear properly leaving Wilson with an easy task of slotting the ball into the empty net.  Eventually Harriers managed to test Taylor again, White hit a 25 yard free-kick that the keeper managed to bundle round the post for a corner.  There was, however, only one team that looked like they were going to score now and that was Oadby who came close to increasing their lead with efforts from David Stevens and Lee Bell who both fired over.
