Match Report
Kidderminster still await their first victory in the Midland Youth Cup after three consecutive First Round exits.

Three times they went behind and three times they equalised before losing in a dramatic finale.

Hednesford began the game the better and took the lead when Robert Meecham raced clear of the visitors' defence and caught John Danby out with a shot inside the near post. Somewhat against the run of play Kidderminster equalised, Ian McVarish scoring from the penalty spot after Gary Davis had been brought down.

After the break Hednesford restored their advantage as Leon Brown pounced on a mistake by Lee Yates to hammer a blistering volley past Danby. Harriers bounced back again as the game opened up and began to flow from end to end. A deep cross from the left by Anthony Bowater was met with a first time shot at the far post by Richard Bailey.

Hednesford's third came from the penalty spot, Meecham converting the kick after Brown had gone down from the slightest of contacts. Harriers pressed for an equaliser and in stoppage time Richard Hall delayed his shot and allowed Richards to save. A minute later he had another chance which he took round the keeper to score, but in a dramatic twist, Meecham completed his hat-trick straight from the restart with a shot from the halfway line.
