Match Report by St@tto
Another professional performance from Harriers saw them negotiate the potentially difficult tie against Sutton United who had put out Cardiff City in the previous round, and progress to the Fourth Round for the first time.

A lively opening saw Harriers take the lead in the eighth minute following good work on the right by full back Scott Lower who beat a couple of defenders before unleashing a shot which Richard Langford got a touch on to wrong foot the keeper. Langford was involved in the second goal minutes later, a good turn and pass by him set up Matt Lewis who rifled the ball in from the edge of the penalty area.

To their credit, Sutton did not capitulate and were son back in the game whe Matt Gray showed a fine turn of speed to break away on the right wing, and his cross to the far post was met by Terry Gardner who kept his shot ust inside the upright.

Harriers continued to attack and the front pairing of Langford and Lewis caused all sorts of problems for the visiting defence, as did the speedy play of Heath and Bailey n the wings. Paul Smith in the Sutton goal had to be alert to keep out Langford and Yates while Lewis had a number of chances to increase the lead.

The second half was a little more even, Sutton had to come forwards more in search of an equaliser while Harriers continued to waste chances. The final goal came just two minutes after the break, a neat interchange of passes on the right ended with Lower crossing to the far post where Dean Hamlin, under pressure from Langford, could only fire the ball into his own net.

As time wore on frustration began to get the better of the visitors, they conceded a number of needless free-kicks and Tony Bridgeman found his name in the referee's notebook. Harriers were not dragged down to that level and comfortably saw out time for their tenth win in thirteen games this season.
