Match Report
Harriers move in to the Third Round of the FA Youth Cup after a thrilling cup-tie at Aggborough.

An even first half saw Harriers start the brighter and create some good chances, but Scunthorpe gradually grew stronger and got into the game. Michael Glynn and Matt Lewis both forced saves from Collins in the Scunthorpe goal and Sean Singh tested John Danby with long range free-kicks.

Shortly before the interval Harriers took the lead, Richard Langford chased a ball out of defence and held off the challenge of his marker before pulling the ball back for Lee Yates to tuck into the bottom corner.

After the break Scunthorpe came out in determined fashion and Singh soon had his name taken for a heavy challenge on Langford. The visitors had an excellent opportunity to level the scores after an hour, Inderpaul Khela fouled Andrew Parton and the referee immediately pointed to the penalty spot. Parton stepped up to take the kick, but Danby dived to his right to save the shot.

Straight away Harriers came close to increasing the lead but Richard Bailey's shot hit the crossbar and rebounded to safety. It did not take long for the second goal to come. Michael Glynn put Matt Lewis clear, his shot was saved by Collins but when the ball came back to him he made no mistake with his second attempt.

Scunthorpe tried to find a way through the resolute Harriers defence, and were given another good chance with a free-kick on the edge of the penalty area but Singh hit his shot against the wall. Harriers were able to weather the storm and saw out time without any further problems.
