Match Report by St@tto
Two goals each from Curtis Shaw and Aaron Farrell saw Harriers comfortably into the third round of the League Cup, the latter taking his tally for the season to eight in as many games.

Harriers were too good for their visitors from the start and could have been two goals up inside the opening ten minutes, Simon Fitter and Shaw saw shots saved by Cinderford keeper Tom Whittaker.  The opening goal was not long in coming, however, Michael McGrath jinked his way past the Cinderford defence to the byline and pulled the ball back to the far post where Shaw was waiting to finish the move off.  Two minutes later the advantage was doubled, right back Fitter found himself on he left wing and his low cross was turned in by Farrell.

It was all Harriers in the first half, Farrell and Shaw could both have had hat-tricks before the interval had their finishing been better.  The best chance, though, fell to James Dyke who got on the end of a Farrell cross but volleyed across the face of goal and wide of the far post.  The inevitable third goal arrived on the half hour mark, Farrell again was involved, his cross from the right was knocked down by McGrath at the far post and before he could shoot Shaw had swept it into the back of the net.  In the closing moments of the half Farrell had two more good chances, first with a rasping shot that Whitttaker did well to push over than bar and then a low shot that the keeper just managed to hold on to with Dyke lurking.

The second half began in the same fashion with Harriers on top and within two minutes they had added a fourth goal.  An inch-perfect pass from Paul Bonar evaded the visiting defence and found Farrell unmarked and he made no mistake lashing the ball past Whittaker into the roof of the net.  Eventually Harriers debutant keeper Bret Clowes was called into action when he had to field a weak shot from Dan Morgan.

Harriers were attacking at will and McGrath and Farrell combined well again on the left wing with Farrell ending the move with a shot that whizzed across the face of the goal with nobody able to turn it in.  Bonar rattled the Cinderford crossbar with a powerful 30-yard drive and Jordan Blair had a goal disallowed for offside.

As the game progressed the Cinderford defending became less and less organised as they were content to just get bodies in the way of the ball to keep Harriers at bay.  Whittaker was keeping the score down with a number of good saves as he became accustomed to the wet conditions that were making handling the ball very difficult for him.  In the closing stages the game started to get quite bad tempered as the visitors were unsettled by a couple of robust challenges from Harriers players and some players tried to take some measure of revenge with equally heavy tackles.  Craig Timmins and Sean McKeon both had their names taken by the referee in seperate incidents as they tangled several times.  The visitors were never likely to threaten a comeback of any kind and Harriers were able to see out the remainder of the game easily. remainder of the game without trouble
