Match Report by St@tto

Harriers three-game winning streak was brought to an end by two second half goals from leaders Cheltenham.

Colin Gordon named an unchanged side from the one that had beaten Macclesfield at the weekend and the in-form side matched their hosts comfortably in the early stages, masking completely the difference in league positions of the two sides.

The game did, however, become stuck in midfield with Harriers having a lot of possession but not really threatening as the well drilled home defence took a no-nonsense approach in clearing hteir lines.  The Robins were an efficient outfit and were quick to close down Harriers whenever they had the ball to prevent them getting their passing game going properly.

The home team could have opened the scoring midway through the first half after Arthur Gnahoua gave the ball away on the wing allowing James Dayton to run at the heart of the Harriers defence before setting up Dan Holman who blasted his shot high and wide.  At the other end Gnahoua himself went close after being set up by Ousmane Fané but his shot from the edge of the penalty area was straight at Dillon Phillips in the Town goal.

The game slipped away from Harriers early in the second half; defending a corner Tyrone Williams appeared to be nudged in the back as he jumped for the ball, forcing him to handle and leaving the referee with no option but to award a penalty.  Former Harrier Danny Wright sent Dean Snedker the wrong way from the spot to open the scoring after 49 minutes.

Seven minutes later Town doubled their advantage; James Rowe's cross from the left picked out Holman who guided a header past the reach of Snedker and just inside the far post.

Whereas earlier in the season Harriers would have capitulated they now kept their heads up and continued to try to play their way back into the game.  Twenty minutes from time a Ben Whitfield free-kick from deep on the left found Kelvin Langmead beyond the far post but he could only guide the ball back across the face of goal.

Harriers' best chance of the game four minutes from the end;  a 22-pass move ended with Harry White shooting from distance but his effort was tipped over the ar by Phillips.
