Match Report by St@tto

Harriers came from behind to record a surprise victory at Lincoln, just their second away win of the season.

New loan signing Max O'Leary was brought into the side in goal for his debut and acquitted himself well.  In front of him was a five-man Harriers defence as Colin Gordon switched things round in an attempt to liven his side up.

In the early stages Harriers were bright and could have taken a fifth minute lead when Arthur Gnahoua and Ben Whitfield combined on the right with the latter firing into the side netting.  The home side began to impose themselves on the game, though, forcing Harriers to abandon their new tactical shape after just ten minutes.  City took the lead on 26 minutes; a deep cross from the right found Matt Rhead beyond the far post, his knock down running to Jack Muldoon who swept home from just inside the penalty area.

At the break Harriers replaced the ineffective Evan Garnett with James McQuilkin and switched back to the formation that they had begun the game with.  Luke Maxwell's pass five minutes into the half set Whitfield clear on the right but he fired over the bar.

Midway through the half an extensive passing move saw Harriers stroke the ball all around the pitch probing for an opening, ultimately Lewis Kinsella's left-wing run and cross saw Whitfield head at home keeper Paul Farman.

In the 72nd minute Harriers drew level; substitute McQuilkin directing a free-kick from nearly 30 yards out over the wall and into the top corner out of the reach of Farman.  Ten minutes later The Imps should have regained the lead when George Maris' run on the left ended with a low cross to the far post where Robbie McDaid somehow managed to blast the ball over the bar from inside the goal area.

With seven minutes to go Harriers grabbed the winner; the referee played a crucial advantage in Harriers' favour in the left back position, allowing them to move the ball forward to Whitfield on the right, he made a strong run into the penalty area only to see his shot parried by Farman but McQuilkin was on hand to head in the rebound.  Both games that McQuilkin has now scored in so far this season have ended in Harriers victories.
