Match Report by St@tto

Harriers recorded their first win since Opening Day, and their first at Moss Lane in five visits, to lift themselves out of the relegation zone.

Although it wasn't the prettiest of performances, Harriers' second away win of the season lifted them six places up the league table, hopefully boosting the confidence of the squad, and left Altrincham firmly rooted in last place.

Harriers, introducing Oliver Thorne in the centre of defence for his debut, enjoyed the best of the possession against a very poor Altrincham side but didn't really test James Coates in the home goal. It was the home team, however, who were first to threaten when James McCarthy's third minute shot was headed over the bar by Michael Briscoe at the expense of a corner.

For the visitors the first good chance came on the quarter-hour mark; Nick Wright got to the byline on the right and cross to the near post where Chris McPhee, playing at centre forward this time, saw his glancing header pushed away by Coates.  A poor clearance by the home defence fell to Keith Briggs on 31 mminutes, he advanced with the ball through the inside-right channel before shooting just wide from 20 yards out.  Just before the break Mike Williams set up Jack Byrne on the left but he, also, failed to hit the target from just outside the penalty area.

The game turned midway through the second half following the introduction of Matt Blair and Callum Gittings, Harriers taking the lead on 72 minutes when Blair set up Gittings.

The lead was short-lived, however, as The Robins drew level three minutes later, Danny Lewis forcing the ball into his own net after being unable to keep out Damian Reeves' shot. Chris McPhee's first goal of the season four minutes later, converting a penalty awarded for handball by James Smith, won the game for Harriers.
