All-Time Harriers XI: Goalkeeper
All season long The Harrier, the matchday programme of the Harriers, has been asking for suggestions for an all-time Harriers team.
I didn’t manage to get mine submitted in time so I’ll publish it here, with some reasoning behind my choices, a section of the team at a time.
First up the goalkeeper.
This was one of the easiest choices to make. In all the years I have been watching the Harriers I have seen a number of good goalkeepers: Tim Clarke, Scott Bevan, Adam Bartlett and Darren Steadman to name a few, but not many have had the success, either with the club or after moving on that Paul Jones enjoyed.
Having clocked up over 200 appearances for Harriers, including an FA Trophy Final appearance in 1991 he enjoyed a successful Football League career with Wolves, Stockport, Southampton – playing in the 2003 FA Cup Final – Liverpool, Watford, Millwall and QPR making nearly 350 Football League appearances. He also made 50 international appearances for Wales, which all go towards making him a shoe-in for my team.

Over the years there have been a lot of good defenders to pull on the Harriers shirt.
