The first “Alternative League Table” focusses on those teams at the top of the table. We’ve selected just the current top ten and only included games played by those teams among themselves.

What immediately jumps out is how good Dartford have been in games against the leading sides so far. Despite leading the table Dartford have a zero goal difference, thanks in no small part to their 5-1 defeat at Aggborough.
Harriers’ great form after the dreadful start to the season is reflected here, but of the 18 games to be played they only have five left and all are away from home. One of those five is at Wrexham who have not lost at home to a team in the current top ten. That 5-1 win over Dartford helps them to have the best goal difference in the table and only Newport have scored more.
Hopefully Forest Green’s home form will continue tonight as I write this ahead of Harriers’ trip to The New Lawn.
Interestingly all of Grimsby’s away games against challenging teams have ended goalless.
It might be expected that both Wrexham and Luton would be higher, but they have played fewer games than most teams. Wrexham, currently undefeated at The Racecourse in these games, have five of their last seven games to play at home which augurs well for them, particularly if the focus moves to just them and Grimsby who they share the lead of the full Conference table with at the moment.
