Match Report by St@tto
Kidderminster were left still searching for their first league win against Carlisle after a dramatic incident packed match saw The Cumbrians come out on top 2-1.

Harriers were a shadow of their normal selves in the first half and allowed their visitors to run the game.  In the opening two minutes Carlisle forced two corners that gave the home defence scares but they did not take the lead until the fifteenth minute.  A poor throw out by Stuart Brock in the Harriers goal put his defenders in trouble straight away and Lee Ayres was adjudged to have fouled the lively Leon Osman as he tried to clear the danger inside the penalty area.  Craig Farrell stepped forward to take the kick and confidently sent Brock the wrong way to record his third goal of the season.

More poor defending almost saw Osman increase the lead three minutes later but Brock saved well and on 25 minutes the keeper did well to tip a stinging 25-yard drive from Brian Shelley over the bar.

Five minutes before the interval Harriers had their best opportunity when JJ Melligan got free on the right and his low cross found Drewe Broughton unmarked at the far post but his weak shot was saved by Matt Glennon.

On the stroke of half time Kidderminster were reduced to ten men, Scott Stamps had just had his name taken for dissent after a foul on Osman when both players clashed again, this time Stamps went in with his studs showing and was booked again and was first back to the dressing room.

After the break Harriers had clearly had a stiff talking to and were a different side, getting on top gradually despite the disadvantage in numbers.  Melligan had a shot saved and had another pair of chances that just missed while Sam Shilton also went close.  At the other end Osman, on loan from Everton, was still at the heart of every Carlisle attack.

On 65 minutes the home team drew level, Melligan found Ian Foster on the right and he pulled the ball back to Sean Flynn 20 yards out who hit a dipping shot over Glennon and into the net.  Foster drew a save from Glennon as did Lee Ayres as Harriers looked to take the lead, but it was the visitors who scored next in controversial circumstances.  Osman, again, broke into the Kidderminster penalty area and chipped the ball over Brock, substitute Will McDonagh lashed the ball home from a yard out amidst protests that he was offside.  Brock was shown the yellow card for his protests.

The action was not yet over, however, in stoppage time McDonagh fouled Shilton and players from both sides threw themselves into the ensuing melee.  McDonagh was shown the red card for the foul, and Flynn got a second yellow to receive his marching orders for his part in the brawl.  From the resulting free kick the ball was played into the penalty area where Lee Maddison pushed Broughton to give Harriers a lifeline.  The normally dependable Foster stepped up to take the kick but Glennon dived to his left to save the kick and win the game for Carlisle.
