Harriers shared the spoils with Premiership side Leicester in an entertaining game at Aggborough that gave them their sternest test of the summer so far.

After an early Harriers chance in the opening minutes when John Williams cut inside on the left and stung the hands of City keeper Danny Coyne, Leicester had the best of the opening period enjoying a lot of possession but without causing too much trouble for the Harriers defence.  The best chance of the half fell to the visitors, a corner from the left was not cleared properly and Jordan Stewart rattled the crossbar with an overhead kick.

Five minutes before the break Harriers had their best chance to open the scoring, Narada crossed low from the left and John Williams' shot at the near post took a deflection and Coyne just managed to keep it out at the foot of the post.

Leicester took the lead a minute after the interval, substitute Brian Deane got up well at the far post to meet Andrew Impey's right wing cross and head it past the stranded Stuart Brock.  The goal provided the lift that the game needed, Harriers hit back quickly: Matt Lewis attacked on the left leaving Impey trailing in his wake and his cross was met at the near post by Narada who guided his header against the far post.  Minutes later the home team attacked again, Narada found John Williams who saw his well-struck shot tipped over the bar by Coyne.

After 69 minutes Leicester substitute Jon Ashton almost gifted Harriers an equaliser, a good build up saw Sean Flynn find Kenny Coleman on the right wing with a searching crossfield pass and the Irishman's cross to the far post was headed just wide by Ashton.  The equaliser came fifteen minutes from time, Bo Henriksen got to the byline on the right and crossed to the far post where Sam Shilton was waiting to lash the ball past Coyne.

Harriers were now on top and three minutes later Sean Parrish did well to pull the ball back from the goalline to Kyle Lightbourne who steered his shot just wide.  The Foxes were not done themselves, however, and twice went close to snatching victory in the closing minutes.  First a Keith Gillespie cross from the right found Deane at the far post, his header was beaten out by Brock and Adie Smith cleared the follow-up shot from Paul Dickov off the line.  Then, with two minutes left, another cross from the right found Leon McSweeney who saw his first shot saved and then blasted the rebound over the bar.
