Match Report
Hereford won this top-of-the-table clash by a less convincing margin than the scoreline suggests. Played at a high pace throughout, and in typical full-booded local derby style the match could have ended 6-6.

The visitors took an early lead when Elmes rose at the far post to powerfully head home Gourlay's left wing cross. Harriers had most of the possession in the first half, with Bogie and Horne dictating the play from the midfield, but it was Hereford who found the net again. Giddings chased after a long ball which sprung the Harriers offside trap and slipped his shot between Tim Clarke's legs.

After the break Harriers created a string of chances, the first good one fell to Ashley Dodd, a trialist from Manchester United, but the ball got stuck under his feet and the opprtunity went away. Tony Bird was unlucky not to get his name on the scoresheet with several chances and then Hereford scored a third. Benbow sent over a free-kick from the right, Gardiner's header was straight at Clarke but he fumbled it as far as Elmes who headed home to ensure victory. Hereford maintain their position at the top of the league and have a game in hand.
