Match Report
Harriers' challenge for the league title continues apace with yet another victory, the seventh in eight league games, which should see them leapfrog Hereford at the top of the league.

A strong Harriers side included ten players who have appeared in the first team this season, with the eleventh being trialist Darren Young from Barnsley. Harriers dominated the opening period, Drewe Broughton brought an early save out of Richard Cooper but it took 42 minutes to break the deadlock. A good move on the right led to Ben Davies crossing and Tom Stevenson dived to head into his own net.

After the break, Tamworth continued to shoot themselves in the foot, Paul Hatton slicing Young's cross into his own net after just 41 seconds of the second half. Harriers had the game sown up shortly after, Ben Davies set Andy Corbett free on the right and his shot went straight through the keeper's hands.

Harriers were now totally in control, Broughton did everything he could to increase the advantage except score - in all he managed 12 attempts on goal including hitting the woodwork twice but the ball just would not go in. Davies scored the fourth after good work by Thomas Poston, and then Tony Bird, playing as sweeper, made a run into the Tamworth penalty area before setting up Corbett to slot home the fifth.

With twenty minutes remaining, Jan Molby strode out for his first competitive appearance in a Harriers shirt and showed that he has lost none of his skills not once giving the ball away. Late on, Bird and Broughton combined through the centre of the visitors' defence to set up Davies to score his second of the night.
