Match Report
Harriers moved closer to winning the League with this magnificent victory over Rushden. Two more wins in the final two games will ensure that Harriers are champions. Harriers introduced more trialists, Chris Smith and Alex Haddow from Reading and Alex Russell from Cambridge.

All of the action came in the second half after a first period in which neither keeper was forced into a save. As Rushden's youngsters began to tire, Harriers took control of the game steppin up the pressure before making the breakthrough after an hour.

John Durnin sent Thomas Poston free on the right and his cross to the far post was swept in by Haddow. Haddow then found Durnin with a long ball over the defence and the striker, who was by now beginning to control the game doubled the advantage with an excellent lob from the edge of the penalty area. Another Durnin effort created the third goal in the space of five minutes, Andy Corbett applying the finishing touch from close range.

Rushden heads dropped now, and it as only a matter of time before another goal came. Poston on the right set up Durnin, but instead of taking the chance himself he rolled the ball sideways for Haddow who blasted his second.

Two of Harriers' substitutes combined to round off the scoring. Gareth Strange got to the byline on the right and pulled the ball back to Williams, and his cross to the far post was volleyed in by Tony Bird, his third goal of the season.
