Harriers threw away an early lead and then came back from behind to win an entertaining game against newly promoted Hereford United at Aggborough.

From the start the game flowed from end to end, after five minutes Hereford almost took the lead when a corner from the right found Chris Mortlock at the far post but his header was cleared off the line by Simon Fitter.  At the other end shortly afterwards Ben Rowland beat his marker to get to the goalline and pulled the ball back to Aaron Farrell who blazed his shot over the bar.  Harriers took the lead after 16 minutes, Carl Dudley got to the byline this time and his cross to the far post picked out Farrell who tucked it past Ding in the Hereford goal.

Liam Teraud should have doubled the advantage three minutes later but his header crashed against the crossbar.  The visitors then drew level after 26 minutes, Paul Collins beat Fitter and Teraud on the left and pulled the ball back to Adam Kite who swept it over Harriers keeper Michael Connolly.  In the last ten minutes of the half both teams created chances, Fitter hit a low drive just wide of the post while at the other end Teraud headed against his own crossbar defending a United corner straight away Harriers attacked with Michael Xiourouppa charging through the Hereford defence but Ding managed to hold onto the shot at the second attempt.  In the last minute of the half Hereford took the lead, Dean Jordan got to the goalline on the right and his chipped cross to the far post was headed in by Collins.

The game continued in similar fashion after the interval with both teams contributing to the entertainment  Just before the hour mark the teams traded chances, first Ben Rowland fired just wide for Harriers and then Hereford's couterattack ended with Connolly saving well from Allam.  After 66 minutes Harriers got back on level terms when Farrell ran from midfield outpacing the visting defence and took the ball around Ding to roll it into the empty net.

Two Harriers substitutes almost combined to restore their lead after 75 minutes when Paul Bonar aimed a long pass forward to Jordan Blair who beat Ding to it but was unable to control it and convert the chance.  The third goal eventually arrived with eight minutes remaining, Curtis Shaw created space with a good turn and his cross was headed into his own net by Murkas.  Two minutes from time Blair created an opening for Rowland to wrap the game up but he fired his shot narrowly wide.  Hereford managed to give Harriers one last scare five minutes into stoppage time when Collins broke free on the left and crossed into the danger area where an unmarked Andy Williams heade wide.
