Match Report by St@tto

Harriers' thirteen unbeaten run was finally brought to an end by bogey team Forest Green with two late goals after Harriers had lead at the interval.

Harriers, unchanged from the side that had beaten Braintree to reach the last eight of the FA Trophy in midweek, began the game like a team that had won their previous eight league games and despite the continual rain dominated possession in the opening stages.  The weather did not help the game flow, however, and there were few goal scoring chances.

It was not until midway through the half that Harriers made the breakthrough; awarded a free-kick 25 yards or more from goal in the inside right channel Jonny Harkness' shot beat the wall and curled out of the reach of home keeper Ryan Robinson and into the top corner of the net for his fourth goal of the season.  At the other end Forest Green should have equalised ten minutes before the break; Danny Williams' cross from the right found an unmarked Danny Carey-Bertram who put his diving header wide of the far post.

After the interval Harriers came out all guns blazing and created a string of chances that should have had the game wrapped up. In the first minute Simon Russell had a 20-yard effort pushed away by Robinson for a corner; on 50 minutes Andy White dragged a shot wide of the far post after Robinson had spilled a long range shot.  Shortly afterwards Robinson was beaten by James Constable's shot but the ball came back off the post, White was following up but Robinson made a fantastic save to deny him.

As the game wore on the home team began to get into the match, exploiting the space Harriers were leaving at the back as they pressed forward and with twenty minutes left Mark Beesley saw his shot blocked and the follow up was scrambled away for a corner.  Soon afterwards Rovers were level when Adriano Rigoglioso turned the ball in from a low cross from the right.  Five minutes from the end Rigoglioso fired the home team ahead; substitute Les Afful broke free on the right wing and crossed low to the far post where Rigoglioso was on hand to knock it past Scott Bevan.  At the death Harriers had one last chance to equalise, Russell's low cross-shot from the right flashed across the goalmouth just out of reach of the Harriers forwards.
