Match Report by St@tto

A disappointing performance from Harriers after the euphoria of beating Wimbledon at the weekend saw their unbeaten run unceremoniously ended by lowly Bath.

Unchanged from the side that beat Wimbledon Harriers were sluggish from the start and never reached the heights of their previous performance.

City took the lead after 15 minutes, Kaid Mohamed scoring from the penalty spot after Jack Byrne had fouled Marley Watkins, Danny Lewis guessed the correct direction and almost got his hands to the ball but couldn't keep it out. A drab game saw little quality from either side with goalmouth action sparse.  Five minutes before the break Chris McPhee broke into the penalty area on the left and pulled the ball back to Dave Hankin who saw his shot cannon back off the crossbar.

On the stroke of half-time the home team doubled their advantage in farcical circumstances.  Thorne's clearance hit teammate Jack Byrne and fell invitingly at the feet of former Harriers trialist Alex Russell who made no mistake with his shot into the far corner.

Early in the second half things could have gone from bad to worse for Harriers when Watkins' cross from the right wing found Mohamed at the near post but he headed wide.  Harriers switched things around, bringing on two more strikers in Marc Williams and leading scorer Nick Wright and changing to a 4-3-3 formation but to little effect.

Four minutes from the end Keith Briggs saw a free-kick beat the defensive wall and hit the bar as Harriers pressed to get something out of the game.  While Harriers were throwing bodies forward they were leaving huge spaces at the back and deep in stoppage time they were caught out by a city counter-attack that left Mohamed with a clear run on goal but he fired wide with the goal at his mercy.
