Match Report by St@tto

Harriers needed extra time to see off the challenge of Conference North side Bradford Park Avenue.

Despite Bradford having a coach breakdown that caused them to arrive at Aggborough shortly before 8pm and the game not kicking-off until nearly twenty past they put up solid resistance to Harriers and at times it was the home side that looked like they had just got off the bus.

Steve Burr made two changes to the side that had drawn the first game, bringing in Callum Gittings and Anthony Malbon in place of Jack Byrne and Nathan Blissett respectively.

The game was quickly better than the scrappy affair of the first encounter with Joe Lolley forcing a save from John Lamb for Harriers who then survived a scare when Nicky Boshell's shot beat Danny Lewis but came back off the far post.

Alex Davdison came close to winning the game for Bradford in the second half but he, also, was denied by the post.  As the game headed towards extra time Amari Morgan-Smith was denied by a last-ditch blcok by James Knowles.

Once extra time began Harriers needed barely a minute to break the deadlock; Marvin Johnson - on for Lolley - got away on the left and his low cross into the goalmouth was bundled over the line by Morgan-Smith. Just before the end of the first period of extra time Johnson doubled the lead with a well-struck shot on the turn.

Bradford were not done yet, though, and pulled a goal back on 109 minutes when Davidson pounced after Harriers had failed to clear a corner.

The victory earns Harriers a home tie in the First Round against Conference South side Sutton United who beat Hemel Hempstead Town in their replay.
