Match Report by St@tto

Josh Gowling's second goal of the season saved a point for Harriers after they had fallen behind at Edgar Street.

A desperately dull game had nil-nil written all over it until Josh O'Keefe's header - United's first attempt on target - looped over Danny Lewis on the hour to give the home side the lead.

Until that point Harriers, showing just one change from the side that lost at Sunderland at the weekend with Freddie Ladapo and Adrian Cieslewicz coming in for Marvin Johnson and Amari Morgan-Smith, had set out to frustrate their hosts.  Defending rather than attacking Harriers coped well with what Hereford could throw at them, but the visitors rarely ventured into the attacking third of the field and so once behind it looked as though the plan had backfired and that they would be beaten.

Fortunately for Harriers they managed to hit back within four minutes; Gowling heading powerfully past Daniel Lloyd-Weston at the far post from Kyle Storer's free-kick from deep on the right wing.  This was Harriers first, and only, attempt on target.

Hereford themselves didn't look like a team tha had won their previous four home games and had Harriers shown more ambition would surely have been able to have created enough chances to have enabled them to have won the game.  That said, better finishing from Hereford, and Michael Rankine in particular, would have seen United take all the points.
