Match Report by St@tto

Harriers raced into a three-goal lead but were left holding-on by the end as Woking fought back.

Woking, unbeaten at home but coming off the back of two straight defeats on the road, started the game brightly with Scott Rendell looking a handful in attack.  On 19 minutes Danny Lewis was called into action to keep out Josh Payne's long-range free-kick.

Harriers, showing just one change - the introduction of Aman Verma in place of Jamie Grimes - to the side that lost to Grimsby, took the lead on 21 minutes.  Kevin Nicholson's long throw from the left was flicked on by Michael Gash to the far post where an unmarked Reece Styche was on hand to volley home.  Two minutes later Harriers nearly doubled the advantage with a repeat of the long-throw routine but this time Marvin Johnson's shot was saved well by Ross Worner.

The second goal came after 25 minutes; Kyle Storer's free-kick on the right was rolled square to Gash who, although not connecting cleanly, struck a low shot beyond Worner into the bottom corner.  The third goal arrived three minutes later; Nicholson's cross from the left was flicked on by Gash to Johnson on the right who pulled the ball back to Storer.  His shot took a deflection off Mike Cestor that left Worner flat-footed.  Styche could have added another just before the break after being set up by Gash but he was blocked.

The Cards needed less than three minutes to pull a goal back after the interval Kieran Murtagh's cross from the left met at the far post by the head of Rendell.

On the hour Harriers could have restored their three-goal lead but Gash's header from Nicholson's right-wing corner hit the bar.  At the other end Rendell headed over as Woking pressed for another goal.  The home team enjoyed massive chunks of the possession in the second half and Harriers struggled to test their defence.

With three minutes remaining Jack Marriott stooped to head in Giuseppe Sole's cross from the right to set up a grandstand finish that saw Lewis make a great save to keep out Cestor's header.
