Match Report by St@tto

Two goals in three second half minutes condemned Harriers to their fourth consecutive home defeat.

Gary Whild made some changes following the disappointing FA Trophy exit, bringing back Jordan Tunnicliffe who had been cup-tied along with Jake Green, Aman Verma and Keyon Reffell - making his first start - in place of Callum Gittings, Akwasi Asante and Craig Reid, starting with no recognised striker in the side.

The game was not the most action packed of events with both sides evenly matched and cancelling each other out and it wasn't until nearly half an hour in before there was a clear-cut goalscoring opportunity when Verma rose at the far post to head Kevin Nicholson's right-wing corner goalwards but his effort was cleared off the goalline.  Shortly before the interval leading scorer Marvin Johnson had a shot from distance pushed around the post by Town keeper Rhys Taylor for a corner.

After the break Jack Byrne went close to giving Harriers the lead on the hour but his shot after an exchange of passes with Green went just wide,

Town took the lead on 66 minutes when Harriers failed to deal with a corner from the left that was head back across the face of goal for Alex Grant to hook in.  Three minutes later the game was ended when Danny Lewis's terrible clearance went straight to Waide Fairhurst on the left just inside the Harriers half who fired the ball first-time straight back into the unguarded net.

Harriers huffed and puffed too get back into the game but The Silkmen were content to get everybody back behind the ball and defend their lead making it even harder for them to be broken down.  In the closing minutes Harriers should have pulled a goal back but Jamie Grimes headed narrowly over the bar from Nicholson's corner.
