Harriers ended an eight-game losing streak with their first away win in over a year.

Making their first-ever visit to Boreham Wood's Meadow Park Harriers battled the conditions and a lively start from the hosts to deservedly take all three points and close the gap to Torquay above them in the league to just three points.

Boreham Wood began the game with the wind in their favour and tried to take the game to Harriers; the visitors found themselves pushed back into their own half early on but could have taken the lead after just six minutes when Ben Whitfield and Jared Hodgkiss combined on the right with the latter crossing low for Arthur Gnahoua who stabbed his shot wide.

At the other end Conor Clifford, who had scored from a free-kick at Aggborough, saw his set piece hit the wall with the rebound falling to Jamie Lucas who fired wide.

Harriers took the lead after 20 minutes; Whitfield and Elton Ngwatala appeared to mess up their free-kick but with the defence now off balance Ngwatala rolled the ball to Whitfield who curled a 25 yard effort around the wall and inside James Russell's left=hand post.

Boreham Wood had the ball in the net shortly afterwards but the goal was ruled out for a fouled by Clovis Kamdjo in the build up.  Harriers should have doubled their lead after good work on the left by new signing Harry White set up Gnahoua but his blistering shot was headed off the line by Danny Woodards who probably knew nothing about it.  Before the break White could have marked his debut with a goal but fired over from Zaine Francis-Angol's cross.

Once they had taken the lead Harriers grew in confidence and that continued after the break when they controlled the game and restricted the hosts to just a handful of attempts at scoring from distance.  On the hour White received the ball from a throw on the right and cut inside the full back before firing narrowly wide of the far post.

Ngwatala tested Russell with a shot from distance after 72 minutes but the effort was straight at the keeper and easy for him to deal with.  Two minutes later, though, Harriers wrapped up the game; David Stephens clumsily ended a surging run by Gnahoua in the penalty area, Ngwatala sent Russell the wrong way from the spot to record his first goal in a Harries shirt.
