Another Defender Signed
Tamworth Defender Michael Briscoe has become the latest addition to the Harriers squad.
This will be his second attempt at a Harriers career; four years ago he played one pre-season game but nothing came of that trial. His career has been varied so far; beginning in local football with Northamptonshire side Harpole his performances earned him a move into the pro game with Coventry City in 2003.
He spent a year with the Sky Blues but didn't make the grade and joined Macclesfield Town. From The Silkmen he moved to Burton Albion on loan before being released and joining Hucknall at the end of the 2005-06 season. It was then that he had his trial with Harriers. Later that season he was loaned from Hucknall to Tamworth where he saw out the season. Spells with Halesowen Town and Redditch United followed before a return to The Lamb last summer and a regular place in the Tamworth defence.
Manager Steve Burr told the Official Website, "I have known Michael for a very long time, since he was playing at Macclesfield. He is someone I have tried to sign a number of times when I was Stalybridge and Northwich. I am really pleased, this is a good, solid signing for us."
