Robbie Matthews Departs

Striker Robbie Matthews is to have his contract cancelled, allowing him to join Newport County.

The striker has been on the transfer list for most of the summer without attracting any concrete interest until now.  A move to the Conference newcomers will allow him to join up with former Harriers team-mate Lee Baker and should reduce the amount of travelling that he has to do as he never moved from his home in the south west after leaving Salisbury last August.

In his time at Aggborough he made 39 appearances, 31 of them as starts, and scored nine goals.

Harriers boss Steve Burr is hopeful that he will be able to bring in 'two or three' more players with the money that has been freed up by Matthews' departure.
