Pre-Season Starts With Defeat: Harriers 0-3 WBA

Harriers began their pre-season warm-ups with a defeat against Premiership new-boys West Bromwich Albion.

The visitors brought a full strength side and fully deserved their victory but Harriers will not be too disappointed; their team of new signings and trialists gave a good account of themselves.

Eight new players and six trialists joined six players left over from last season in the Harriers line-up; right back Lee Vaughan was amongst those to stand out, along with Mark Albrighton and Tom Shaw.

Ishmael Miller gave Albion the lead on 11 minutes and Roman Bednar, one of eleven Albion half-time substitutes, doubled the advantage after 68 minutes.  The result was put beyond doubt five minutes later when Abdoulaye Meite scored his first goal in a West Brom shirt.
