Finally A Friendly Is Won: Chasetown 0-1 Harriers
Lloyd Kerry, back with the Harriers on trial, scored the only goal of the game as Harriers beat Evo-Stick League side Chasetown to record their first win of the summer.
There was a new face in the Harriers side, experienced striker Lee Morris starting alongside Chris McPhee up front as Steve Burr switched to a more traditional 4-4-2 formation.
Harriers enjoyed the lion's share of possession throughout the game but rarely looked like taking the lead, wayward finishing and last-ditch defending by Chasetown keeping the scores level.
After the break Harriers looked more dangerous with more triaists in the team with both Matt Blair and Kevin Holsgrove looking lively in attack. The winner finally came seven minutes from the end, Callum Gittings and Blair combining on the left to set up Kerry who stabbed the ball into the roof of the net from close range.
