Two In, One Out
Steve Burr has moved to secure two more players for the squad but has also let one player leave.
Heading away from Aggborough is Nathan Hayward who has not been able to reach agreement on the terms of the new contract he was offered at the start of the summer. In his time at Aggbrough he made 13 appearances, just two of which were starts, and didn't score.
The first of the new signings is trialist Mike Williams, 23, who joins from Wrexham where he has spent the whole of his career, coming through from the lowest levels of the junior ranks. The defender, who can play both at left back and in the centre, has signed a contract that takes him through to the end of the coming season. In his time at Wrexham he played 128 games and scored six goals, two of which came against Harriers in the 2-2 draw at The Racecourse last season.
The other new signing is striker Lee Morris who was released by Hereford United at the end of last season. The 30-year-old has a wealth of Football League experience, starting his career at Sheffield United, for whom he made 33 apearances and scored 8 goals, he was sold to Derby County for £3,000,000 in 1999. A loan spell at Huddersfield Town followed before he was sold on again, after scoring 18 goals in 101 appearances for Derby, to Leicester City who paid £120,000 for his services. In the summer of 2006 he moved on to Yeovil Town and then two years later joined Burton Albion with who he won the Conference. Last summer he joined Hereford but things didn't work out too well there and he was soon loaned out first to Mansfield Town and then Forest Green Rovers. Like Williams he has signed a one-year contract.
