Defender Bolsters Squad On Deadline Day

Harriers moved to strengthen their leaky defence with the addition of Newport County defender Ollie Thorne on a free transfer.

The 20-year-old only moved to Newport this summer having spent last season at Forest Green but had yet to make an appearance for County.  He began his career at MK Dons but never made the first team there; He moved to The New Lawn last summer and played in half of Rovers' Conference games, scoring once.

Despite only being with Newport for a few weeks they cancelled his contract to enable him to move to Aggborough.  Harriers boss Steve Burr told the Official Website, "Ollie is a young lad but he has experience at this level and is strong in the air.  He has no gripes with Newport about not being involved because of how well they've started, but he is desperate to play football and is keen to come here.  He is definitely someone who will make us stronger - he has put pen to paper for us today and we're going to see how things go."
