Sorry Harriers Crash Out: Harriers 0-2 York City
A very disappointing performance from lacklustre Harriers saw them slip quietly out of the FA Cup for another year and miss out on some much-needed revenue.
Harriers never got going and were second-best throughout the game to a sprightly York side and for the second week in a row they finished the game with ten men, substitute Ollie Thorne receiving his marching orders 14 minutes from the end.
With resources stretched to the limit Steve Burr was unable to name a full complement of subs; Keith Briggs who was a doubt before the game was forced into action and limped out of the game before half time when his injury flared up again, thorne replacing him.
City took the lead after 23 minutes when Daniel Racchi latched on to a long ball from the back and lifted an excellent lob over Danny Lewis. Sloppy defending allowed Michael Rankine to set up Jonathan Smith for hte second 8 minutes after the break. Harriers did have the ball in the net two minutes from the end but Matt Blair's effort was ruled out for offside.
