Preview: Harriers V Eastbourne Borough

Victory today, when Eastbourne visit, could lift Harriers into the play-off positions for the first time this season.

Steve Burr has an almost complete squad to choose from; only Jack Byrne and Kyle Hadley are definitely out - Byrne completes his three-game suspension and Hadley is still at Harrogate on loan.  Chances are the manage will stick with the same side that has won the last two league games without conceding a goal; none of the fringe players who featured for the Reserves in their County Cup defeat in midweek gave performances that suggested that they should be in the first-choice eleven although Aaron Griffiths may have done enough to get himself on the subs' bench.  If selected Marc Williams will play his last game before his loan ends and he returns to Wrexham on Monday.

Eastbourne are not on a good run of form at the moment; they have won just once in the last nine games and none of the last six games, although they are becoming something of a draw specialist with five ties in those last six.  Their current form sees them lie in 16th place after a slide down the table from the dizzy heights of third in late August.  Matt Crabb and Matt Smart will return to the squad after injury while Joe Partington is back from suspension; Andy Aitken, however, is still out with injury.

The two sides have met just four times previously with Harriers having the edge overall - two wins and a draw - despite failing to score against Borough in either game last season.  The game at Aggborough last time ended in a 2-0 win for the visitors.

I expect Harriers to line-up as follows (4-4-2): Lewis; Vaughan, Mike Williams, Briscoe, Sharpe; Hankin, Briggs, McPhee, Blair; Marc Williams, Morris.
Subs (from): Shaw, Albrighton, Griffiths, Wright, Gittings, Matt, Thompson-Brown, Stevens.
Missing (suspended): Byrne.
Missing (on loan): Hadley.

Today's referee is Chris Knowles from Northamptonshire.  This will be his first time in charge of a Harriers game.

The weather this afternoon is forecast to be cloudy with a temperature of around 8°C.
