Ollie Thorne Loaned To Rushden & Diamonds

Defender Ollie Thorne has been loaned to Conference rivals Rushden & Diamonds for the next month.

Since joining the club in late August he has made ten appearances, one of them as a sub, but since being sent off in the FA Cup tie against York he has been unable to force his way back into the side due to the form of Tom Sharpe and Mark Albrighton, playing just once against Newport County.

Speaking to the Official Website about the decision to let him go boss Steve Burr said, "The door is by no means shut for Ollie, but I feel that with Tom Sharpe, Michael Briscoe and Mark Albrighton - although Mark is going to be missing for a couple of games - we are quite strong in that area.  As a young lad, Ollie wants to play and he has no qualms that Tom has gone in there.  Ollie has dropped down the pecking order a little bit and, after his sending off against York, his form dipped a little bit and confidence went.  He'll go to Rushden and get some games and we'll see how things develop."
