Harriers Bring Home Battling Point: Darlington 1-1 Harriers
A battling performance saw Harriers earn themselves another point on the road, stretching their unbeaten run to seven games.
Harriers did enough to have won the game although after the interval had to mount a resolute rearguard action to keep Darlington at bay. Skipper Keith Briggs gave Harries the lead after just 13 minutes with a shot from distance that flew into the top corner and left home keeper Sam Russell grasping at thin air.
The visiting defence did well to keep Darlo at arms length for some time but eventually were breached on 62 minutes with Michael Smith heading in. Harriers could have won the game had Jack Byrne's header dropped a little lower instead of hitting the bar while the score was still 1-0.
The sour point of the evening, however, for Harriers was the sending-off of Byrne in stoppage time for a rash tackle on Gary Smith that means he will now miss the next four games, not able to return until Darlington visit Aggborough next month.
