Preview: Luton Town v Harriers
The big games continue to come for Harriers with a trip to Kenilworth Road to take on Luton Town this afternoon.
Having faced one of their play-off rivals in Wrexham last weekend, this game kicks off a massive week for Harriers as they take on all of the top three, starting with the third-placed Hatters.
Steve Burr will welcome back Lee Vaughan into the squad after he completed his two-game suspension, and Lee Morris is available again after injury, so the only person missing is Jack Byrne who serves the second of his four-game ban. Vaughan is not certain of getting his place back in the side, however, as Tom Sharpe has filled in more than ably in his absence.
The Hatters, like Harriers, have suffered defeat just once in their last 13 league games. That defeat came last time out on home soil when they went down 3-1 at the hands of Fleetwood Town. Richard Money has an almost full squad to choose from with only Alex Lawless out injured. Former Harrier Matt Barnes-Homer should feature, Town's leading scorer is now the only ex-Harrier in The Hatters' 34-man squad.
I expect Harriers to line-up as follows (4-4-2): Lewis; Sharpe, Williams, Briscoe, Albrighton; Blair, Briggs, Shaw, Wright; McPhee, Canham.
Subs (from): Vaughan, Hankin, Morris, Griffiths, Gittings, Matt, Thompson-Brown, Matt.
Missing (suspended): Byrne.
In previous meetings Harriers don't have a good record; five time previously the clubs have met and five times Luton have come out on top. This fixture last season ended up in a 3-1 win for the home team, Harriers goal coming from James Lawrie.
The referee this afternoon will be Rob Whitton from Essex. This will his third time in charge of a Harriers game, and second of this season. Earlier this term he did the 2-0 defeat at Crawley, and the only other game he did ended in defeat for Harriers.
This afternoon's weather is forecast to be mostly cloudy with a temperature around 6°C.
