Cup-Holders Into Final Again: Redditch United 2-3 Harriers Reserves
A team made up entirely of trialists saw off the challenge of Redditch to take Harriers into the final of the Worcestershire Senior Cup.
Having won the competition with a team of youngsters and trialist s last summer Harriers are taking a similar route to defend their trophy this time around.
Only Josh Webb was named in the starting line-up, as he had been with the club at end of last season there appeared no need to keep his name a secret, although there were a couple of academy graduates amongst the substitutes.
Harriers took an early lead; a confident finish from a trialist who had featured in previous games after just four minutes. Another trialist, a striker, who was making his first appearance had chances to increase the advantage but wasted them before Orrin Pendley levelled for Redditch on the half-hour.
That same striker trialist, though, restored Harriers advantage six minutes later and then three minutes before the break another trialist who had featured in all of the previous games added a third.
After the break Redditch looked to force their way back into the game but couldn't break down the Harriers defence while they were kept on the back foot by Harriers' speedy trialist left back.
The hosts did eventually pull another goal back through Keegan Woolley with just over a quarter of an hour remaining to set up a frantic finish but Harriers were able to see out the game comfortably.
