Preview: FC United of Manchester v Harriers
There's a bottom-of-the-table clash tomorrow as Harriers head to FC United who also have no points so far.
Both clubs would have hoped for a better start to the season but have begun with two defeats each; FC United, though, have managed to find the net in both games which is enough to keep them above Harriers in the table.
Joel Taylor goes straight into the squad having joined on a short-term contract today. The 21-year-old defender was previously with Stoke City and came through the junior ranks there but his only senior appearance was with Rochdale in a loan spell. Moving away from Aggborough today is goalkeeper Jono Brown who has joined Rushall Olympic on loan until January. The manager was not happy with the side after the midweek defeat at Nuneaton so there could be changes to the team; Dan Bradley and Elton Ngwatala are pushing for starts as they continue to build fitness after limited pre-season action while Lee Vaughan remains the only player on the treatment table.
FC United began their season with a 2-1 defeat at Brackley before losing a thriller 3-2 to Spennymoor in midweek despite dominating the game. They will have defender Matty Hughes available tomorrow after missing their first two matches but Scott Kay and Lewis Lacy are both suspended.
Last season this fixture ended in a narrow 1-0 win for United despite Harriers having nearly 75% of the possession; United also won the game at Aggborough 2-0, the only other competitive fixture between the clubs.
I expect Harriers to line-up as follows (4-3-3): Hall; Webb, Keane, Daly, Williams; Croasdale, McQuilkin, Bradley; Nti, Ironside, Austin.
Subs (from): A. Brown, Digie, Joachim, Ngwatala, Palmer, Sonupe, Taylor, Truslove, Weeks.
Missing (injured): Vaughan.
Missing (on-loan): J. Brown, Clarke.
The referee tomorrow is Benjamin Speedie from Liverpool who will be taking charge of his first Harriers game.
Tomorrow afternoon's weather is forecast to be partly cloudy with a 5% chance of rain and a temperature around 17°C.
