A Busy Week Of Transfers
A crazy week of transfer activity has seen players coming in and going out at Aggborough.
The biggest news is the departures of Liam Daly and Cieron Keane who have both had their contracts cancelled by mutual consent.
Neither player had settled fully into the side since their summer moves; Daly, having played in all seven games, has returned to Solihull Moors while Keane, who played just four times, has joined Alfreton Town.
Coming in to Aggborough were goalkeeper Charlie Bannister, a 20-year-old who came through the youth ranks at Aston Villa, leaving at the same time as Josh Webb, moving on last summer to Watford. He has yet to make a senior appearance in his career.
Joining on loan until the end of January is defender Fraser Horsfall who arrives from Huddersfield Town. Another 20-year-old he has been with The Terriers for 13 years; he has yet to make a senior appearance for them but has seen action in loan spells last season with Trafford, Stalybridge and Salford. This summer he joined Gateshead on loan but was recalled as he hadn't played a game, yet.
Another coming in loan is attacking midfielder Will Longbottom who joins for a month from Doncaster Rovers. Despite being just 18 he has featured nine times in the first team since making his debut in May 2016. His most recent appearance being in this week's EFL Trophy tie against Grimsby.
Finally, returning to the club is striker Andre Wright who featured for the club on loan from WBA in 2015-16 scoring one goal in twelve appearances. Since then he has had loan spells at Torquay United and Coventry City before being released by the Albion at the end of last season. He has signed a contract to keep him at Aggborough until the end of the season.
