Preview: Curzon Ashton v Harriers

Harriers go in search of their second away win in a row tomorrow when they visit Tameside Stadium to take on Curzon Ashton.

Tuesday's disappointing defeat at the hands of Gloucester left Harriers in mid-table but with the early season standings still close - there are just ten points from top to bottom - a win tomorrow could lift them as high as fifth.  That won't be an easy task, though, as their hosts are amongst the early pacesetters.

Harriers are likely to be unchanged once again; Tom Palmer, with a head injury, and Jimmy O'Connor, knee, are set to miss out again.  The only possible change to that John Pemberton is likely to make is to bring Alex Prosser back into the starting line-up but the lack of experience in the side suggests that that is unlikely so Richard Peniket will continue up front with Ed Williams in the midfield.

Curzon have had a promising start to the campaign and are currently third, unbeaten after four games and one of only two teams to have scored more goals than Harriers thanks to their 5-0 win over Bradford.  After that convincing Opening Day victory they followed up with draws on the road at Southport and Leamington before beating Darlington in midweek.

Last season this fixture ended in a 1-1 draw, Ashley Chambers with the Harriers goal.  Harriers have a good record against The Nash; in seven games played Harriers have five wins and no defeats.

I expect Harriers to line-up as follows (5-3-2): Gregory; Austin, Davidson, Moyo, R. Williams, Johnson; Weeks, Butterfield, E. Williams; Chambers, Peniket.
Subs (from): D. Lowth, Higginson, Mountjoy, Prosser, Scott, Taylor-Randle, White.
Missing (injured): O'Connor, Palmer.

Refereeing the game is Paul Brown.  This will be his second Harriers game having done last season's 3-3 draw at Blyth.

The weather in Greater Manchester is forecast to be partly cloudy with a 5% chance of rain and a temperature around 19°C.

In the morning the Under-23s travel to Sutton Coldfield to try and kick-start their season after beginning the defence of their league title with defeat at Rushall last weekend.  Kick-off at Coles Lane is at 10:30am.
