Preview: Stafford Rangers v Harriers
A trip to Stourbridge awaits the winners of this evening's cup replay at Marston Road.
If Harriers overcome Stafford this evening the 3rd Qualifying Round encounter would the third time in five seasons that they have travelled to Amblecote in the FA Cup.
Before then, though, Harriers must overcome a Stafford side that put up a resolute defence at Aggborough on Saturday. Richard Peniket picked up a hamstring strain in the first meeting and will be assessed ahead of the game tonight; should he be unavailable Ethan Freemantle could come in for his first start but more likely would be Ollie Shenton coming in to the side in midfield and Ed Williams moving into attack. Other than Peniket there are no other new injuries.
Harriers last visited Marston Road in August 2007 when two goals from Justin Richards and one from Gavin Hurren gave them a 3-1 win. They last won in Stafford in an FA Cup tie at this stage in 1965, Peter Wassall and Bernard Gosling with the goals in a 2-1 victory. Overall, in games since 1945, Harriers have 24 wins to 13 from 45 encounters.
I expect Harriers to line-up as follows (5-3-2): Palmer; Austin, Davidson, Moyo, R. Williams, Johnson; Weeks, Butterfield, E. Williams; Chambers, Peniket.
Subs (from): Digie, Prosser, D. Lowth, S. Lowth, Mountjoy, Shenton, Taylor-White, White.
Missing (injured): Gregory, Sharman.
This evening's referee will be Ed Duckworth from Cheshire who will be in charge of his first Harriers game.
Weather for this evening is forecast to be showery with a 30% chance of rain and a temperature in the region of 15°C.
