Match Report by St@tto

Harriers' unbeaten run was brought to an end at The Wessex Stadium by sloppy defending and a Weymouth side battling hard against relegation.

Mark Yates made three changes to the side that drew with Histon the week before; Chris MacKenzie returned in goal, Mark Creighton returned from injury and Paul Bignot made his first start for five games with Dean Coleman, Michael Wylde and Jeff Kenna all left out.

A goalless first half saw little action from either side; Russ Penn forced a save from Stephen Henderson in the Terras goal while at the other end MacKenzie was alert to keep the impressive James Coutts and Stuart Beavon at bay.  Neither side threatened really looked like breaking the deadlock, however, and the game looked set to be a repeat of the earlier goalless draw.

After the break Harriers enjoyed more possession and finally made the breakthrough just past the hour mark.  Matt Barnes-Homer's pass through the inside-left channel set Simon Russell away and he stroked his shot beyond the reach of Henderson to record his seventh goal of the season.

The lead was short-lived as sloppy defending by Harriers at a corner allowed Chris Blackburn a free header at the near post to bring Weymouth back into the game.  Despite their possession Harriers didn't trouble Henderson again, Iyseden Christie had a couple of chances to extend his Seven-game scoring streak but couldn't get them on target.  The closest he came to scoring, in fact, was a defensive header four minutes from the end that almost found its way into his own net but for a good save from MacKenzie.

Weymouth won the game in stoppage time; more sloppy defending from a free-kick deep on the left left substitute Stuart Douglas with the easiest of chances to head in from close range.
